Below is a brief summary of offerings at the Colorado Springs Velodrome, Please see our event calendar for specific dates. Registration for events must be done through Bike Reg by following the links of the title for each program below. There is no day of registration for training sessions, classes or racing. All riders must hold an annual USA Cycling License or Purchase a One Day License.

YOUTH LEARN THE VELO (PRESENTED BY KIDS ON BIKES AND SRAM)
Youth LTV is a 4 week long program each month for kids, divided into two categories; 10-14 and 15-18. (On Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30-6pm led by Olympian Maddie Godby.)  Week 1 is the required Learn The Velo certification to introduce riders to the safety protocol and rules of the velodrome.  Weeks 2-4 are coached sessions to continue building foundational skills and comfort riding the velodrome.  In addition to the basics, the program will also introduce youth riders to racing.  Once riders have passed the certification, they can attend any coached sessions during the monthly semester. Step 2. Signup for the Youth Learn the Velodrome and/or monthly sessions through 

 

LEARN THE VELO (PRESENTED BY KIDS ON BIKES AND SRAM)
Learn the Velo is a 4 day course, designed to get riders familiar with the safety protocol and rules of the velodrome. Upon completion of the class, pending approval of the coaching staff, riders will be granted an upgrade from Novice to Cat 4, and will be able to train in Open Track Sessions and Learn to Race Sessions. Rental Bikes as part of the class.

Expedited Certification is Available for experienced riders or riders certified from other tracks such as LA. Please contact Robert if you have such a request.

Adult Learn the Velo Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6:00 ($40 for the entire class)
Youth Learn the Velo Monday and Wednesday 4:30-6:00 (Free)
Learn To Race (Details to be determined!)($20.00 a session)

OPEN TRAINING SESSIONS Monthly Pass $100, Single Session $20
Open Training is Monday - Thursday, 6:00- 9:00pm

Coached Training Sessions:
Learn to Race: Wednesday 6:00-8:00pm (Novice/Intermediate Group Training for LTV Graduates or riders who simply want a group to train with! There is no additional cost, simply register for the Wednesday Night Open Training Session and send Robert an email to enroll; rmayfield@usacycling.org)

FRIDAY NIGHT RACE SERIES (Adults $25, Juniors $10)

That’s right! Friday Night Racing is Back! We’re offering an 18 race series! A mix of Bunch Racing, Sprints and Keirin throughout the spring, summer and fall. Riders of all levels are welcome!


Friday Night Racing 6:30-9:00pm
(Please note the Building will be open at 5:00, but the track will not be open until 6:00pm for warm up when medical staff arrives.)

THE RULES:
-Unsafe riding, equipment or behavior of any kind will not be tolerated
-Helmets must be worn at all times while riding
-All riders must have an Annual or One Day USA Cycling License
-All bikes must be fixed gear with no brakes
-All riders must obey instruction of Velodrome Program Staff
-All riders must communicate with their fellow track users and coaches
-Be Safe and Predictable
-Have fun!
